Watermelon and Stick Figures

Whitney Duren and Ryan Jordan have been dating for four years, and are (finally!) going to be hearing wedding bells August 1, 2009. Whitney, Ryan, the Maid of Honor, the Mother of the Bride, and I met up in Downtown Mobile on one of the hottest days of the summer for this beautiful couple to show the people of Mobile how it’s really done. They absolutely lit up in front of the camera, and their love was evident as passers-by stopped to watch nearly every photograph take place. The Mother of the Bride was a trooper having made special glasses for everyone, labeled “Bride”, “Groom”, “Mother of the Bride”, “Photo Guy”, etc. with stick figures to boot (I’ve included a photo), along with pitchers of ice water, and a Tupperware container full of watermelon that brought laughter the entire day. The highlight of the shoot happened sort of by accident. We entered the Battle House Hotel to see if we could capture a few shots in their lobby, and they were happy to oblige. We actually ended up coming back later for Whitney’s bridals (They’re gorgeous! You’ll see them after the wedding!) Let me know what you think of the engagements!

(Below is the photo showing the glasses.)

Mississippi Summer

Josh Reid, my frat brother/former SGA Vice-President/former suite mate and his lovely girlfriend of near 2 years, Molly Jones are scheduled to be wed September 12, 2009. I’ve known Josh and Molly for several years, and have watched their love grow stronger as seasons passed. The love they have for each other is the kind of love most people only read about. When they asked me to shoot their “Save the Dates”, Engagements, Molly’s bridals, and their most special day, I was honored beyond words. We had great fun in the hot, humid, mid-June weather of South Mississippi. Hiking to the middle of a field, sneaking around a local nursery, walking an abandoned bridge, and (our ultimate favorite) capturing a few shots at the local drive-in movie theatre. Molly scored a great asset, and the pictures turned out beautifully. Drop me a line. I love hearing from you!

Sanders Family Photo Shoot

I had the pleasure of meeting Tiegha Sanders when we took a Tropical Field Biology class in January, 2008 that put us in the rainforests of Guatemala for a week. We became friends almost instantly, and have kept that friendship since then. Tiegha contacted me a few weeks ago asking me to do a photo shoot of her family. Tiegha, her husband Jeremy, and their five year old daughter Alexis Paige (Lexi), had just welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Karmyn Elise to the family. I drove to their horse farm in Lumberton, MS Saturday. The shoot went well. Lexi is a beautiful girl with a fierce desire to see and know everything. She also loves sharing her wealth of knowledge with anyone that will sit still for a moment. Karmyn has a head full of black hair, and gorgeous features. She has beautiful blue eyes that she would not show for the camera, but she was probably the easiest baby I've ever had the pleasure of photographing. It was a great day, and I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed shooting them.
